I don't know much about building airplanes, but it seems to me that if your plane is turning like crazy, it's probably dipping one wing quite a bit as it turns. Moving the motors inboard would take some weight off the wing tips so they wouldn't dip so much. Also, the thrust differential would be less, so it wouldn't dip so much. I'd think you'd have smoother turns.
