RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
What a thread... many hours of fun reading, what an adventure for $30. Got my AA b radio plane 2 days ago. It may not have been mentioned yet that by holding the plane and listening to the props at full throttle, you can adjust the trim by ear and hear when the props are going into harmonics, which probably means they are somewhat balanced, at least at full throttle. Like tuning a guitar. Not too close to your ear though! Seems to help after a crash, or after the little kids have been playing with the trim. Also I check to see if the thing will glide straight, before my powered flights. Other than trimming off all the little nodules on the top wing surfaces which seemed crazy not to do, and removing a couple of stickers that I had put on, I haven't modified mine yet. Hoping tomorrow morning is mild. I would like to see a canard mod, and wonder if I should move the battery forward as seems to have helped many. The Aero Ace is just so much fun as it is! For me it's all about 'threading the needle;' I'm shooting for low speed, low altitude maneuverability, and payload capacity. One of the best parts is, ditching in the bushes then goosing the remote control to hone in on where it crashed!
