No doubt. But here in the sub-tropics, I wonder if the high humidity will make it swell/contract with temperature changes.

I seem to recall that the first batch of GP Patty's had a cardboard tube, and it caused all sorts of headaches; mainly wing tubes that didn't slide into their receptacle.
