..The Wasp has never had a problem with "high fuel consumption".
...In fact it has always been slightly more efficient than most (~240 ml/min @ 18 lbs thrust).

The June/July issiue of RCJI quotes fuel consumption of 276 ml/min at maximum RPM Vs Manufactures claims of 261ml/min.
The maximum thrust failed to reach over 16.5 lbs Vs claims of 18-20lbs
However it managed its maximum RPM of 148,000.
