obviously you get it primed first, then try to start it. Then if it doesn't start, take the glow plug out and turn the motor upside down and pull the cord a few times to see if fuel comes out. if it does, it's flooded. If not, it's not getting fuel and you either have a fuel problem or it's not primed enough.

Anyway, If it is flooded, you will first want to check your glow ignitor to see if it is fully charged. then I reccomend trying a new glow plug, prefferably a hot one like an OS #8. or at least check your current glow plug by taking it out of the engine and using piliars (so you don't burn your fingers) insert it into the glow ignitor and see if it glows to an almost white color.

those light blut lines can be a pain yeah, but if you have a hobby shop close you could get some clear stuff. It's les than a dollar a foot anyway.
