Check out these two sites....liberty foundation.org for the Liberty Belle which was at one time a test bed and has been restored to stock configuration. www.warbirdregistry.org/b17registry the last one has a couple of photos. Don't be too sure there wasn't a B-17 on floats, they did a lot of crazy stuff in the forties. How about a P-39 with carrier arresting gear or a P-51 with a tail hook???
