Default Choising a class for on road racing.

I am interested in possibly getting into onroad racing at a local track. Actually, I plan to just drive by myself on the track 95% of the time and actually race maybe once a month at most as my work schedule doesnt allow me to make the race days very often. Not to mention, I dont want to pay to race very often either. It's a nice 1/10 scale concrete track that runs both nitro and electric classes. I prefer to stay with electric. I really like small scale cars for some reason, so I would really prefer a smaller scale car than 1/10. I enjoy driving my 1/18 cars and was wondering if I would be better off setting up something like a 1/18 xray M18 for track use or possibly getting a 1/12 scale car. Most 1/12 car I have seen all say for carpet use, but they do run 1/12 class at the ourdoor track. What cars should I look at? I dont know much about 1/12 cars, but they look very basic in design. Would 1/18 or 1/12 be a better car to setup for having fun. I just want to be able to stop by the track after work and race around as quickly as possible for a good time. I also like ot just cruise around in the street in front of our place at high speeds for a good time as well. Thanks.
