I agree with Tom,cutting the wing off gives you a little less stablity,and faster roll rate,roll rate is fast enough as per design,plane flyes good floats on landing,quite a few people use them for second planes,they are more like third planes on the learning curve,so untill you get lots of stick time I'll suggest keeping the rates low.
