Rob.. Sorry about your flying field's situation... Neighbors/people have been a problem
for this hobby... Most are good... But there is always the slight few that will never like
our hobby.. They have shutdown a few fields in the past from what I've heard... Hope
all will turn out good!!
Our field is on borrowed time...( 5 mins away for me [] )
A home developer is letting us use his land for free plus he helped us get the paved
runway for free, And also lets us use a Moble home for our club house... It's a Great
Deal... Our problem is, it's the last section of land he has to develope.. So we're hoping
atleast 3-5yrs before he can get all the permits(it's a bit slow here, plus getting water
rights gives us a bit of time) to start building.. The owner said we should be OK for 5yrs
+ because he plans to build the first 75 homes on the far end of the his property, which
would be plenty of room to still have the field and AMA flying area..... But you know
what happens once homes get close.... About three months ago he wanted to start
moving dirt only while waiting for permits for piping etc... But he ran into a snag, He was
going to use the dirt road we use to the field as a main roadway, But the State did not
like that.. Plus he's having problems with water rights... That can be tough here...
So we have been looking for a replacement field.... But it's tough.... Don't think we
will find a deal like this again.... Sorry for my rambling.... But your problems started me
thinking of ours.... Hope all turns out good for you and your Club!!
