U$3000 is too much for a 120 size plane but perfect for a 2 meter plane. The best 120 size plane for me is the Hirobo Astral X or XX 120. The only difference between the 2 is that the X has a cenventional stab while the XX has an unhedral stab. It is an arf with a carbon/glass painted fuse and built up surfaces covered in oracover/ultracote. Soft mount for a YS110/120 is included and these are the recommended engines for the plane with the 110 being the preference due to lighter weight with almost the same power. I just got one after being so happy with my 2 meter Astral XX. I will start building it next week and it should be done within the month since I am a bit busy at the moment. My friends Astral X 120 is already flying and flies terrific. I have 2 other friends who ordered one after seeing the 1st one fly. Whatever you end up getting, I strongly suggest you get a pure pattern plane with regular sized control surfaces and not one of those 3D/pattern designs with oversized (for pattern anyway) surfaces.
