Btw...yes there was a 5 engine B-17 and it has been well documented. The cockpit had to be moved aftward 4 feet to make room for the turboprop engine in the nose running a 4-blade huge propeller. That one engine could power the plane alone. The standard 4 engines were there obviously as a safety margin.
