Ive never heard of people racing 1/18th outside, alsmot all tracks, almost all 1/18th on-road tracks are indoor on carpet. I think you shuld get a 1/10th because alot more people have them, and your track btter be incredibly weel kept if you plan on racing a 1/18th var there without having problems
