Spektrum and Fail Safe Question
Just got a new Turmoil RTR with the DX2 Spektrum radio. Love everything about it so far, but I do have a quick question about the built-in fail safe. I got everything bound together correctly, and the car will go into fail safe mode if the TX is turned off. My question is about low battery in the RX. I read the FAQ on the Spektrum website, and I did see where it mentioned that it would not detect battery failure. I'm guessing that is a complete bad battery or total disconnection. What about low voltage? I've read elsewhere in several different forums, and it is about 50/50 on whether it detects low voltage or not. Last night, while on my 4th tank of break-in, the electronics started acting weird, got real jittery, etc. But it never went it fail safe mode at all. Took that RX pack out of the buggy and threw it in my truck with an Ofna fail safe, and it went directly to fail safe mode because of the low voltage. Just curious if I should throw another fail safe on top of the built-in one, or if I should try re-binding if it should be detecting low voltage. Thanks in advance.
