As for lube, I got some penetrating silicone lubricant from the electrical isle at Home Depot. It works wonders. The spin down takes forever now, because everything is so smooth.
I think I'll get some of that lube. I don't have any problems now but I bet it makes it more efficient, improves run time, and probably lets the motor run cooler.
