That's what I should've done if I had the money at the time, strip everything down and put the custrom upgrades on it. All of those upgrades will help in their own ways. I, honestly, hope that you don't have the same noob problems I did with my ST, but whatever you do, please do not give up. About the pointers, just follow this break in procedure:

First, to start with the wheels and tires. People suggest not sticking with the stock rims, you would want to get some new 23 mm adaptors found here:
