Congratulations aerospot I also fly at Gerliens Eagle field. You may be the last to be trained by Mahlon he does not do it much any more. But he is a joy thou. My son is learning to fly his designed club racer but it’s hard for us to get their on Sunday to race his plane. Again GREAT JOB

Thanks for the 'Congrats'' Rich. It's been awhyle though...
I need to reconnect with Mahlon soon. He taught me more than just flying these things. He helped me in the early days with my scratch building endeavors and taught me how to cover with polyester fabric & dope. You've seen his work? He is a master craftsman for sure!!
I always marvel at how he gains his plans. He often purchases a plastic model of what he wants and using calipers, measures & scales a drawing to suit his desire. He never glues the plastic model together instead he tapes parts together that he needs to measure. He states that some kid will enjoy building it someday...
He has a rough exterrior that many took the wrong way but, he is soft as butter underneith. I'm glad to hear he's still fly'in!!
If you ever make it out to Lake City look me up. I'm in the book!
