Steelie, I had a similar problem with my spring air struts but it did not prevent my gear from fully retracting. I prefer the Spring Air mechanism becouse it has the failsafe feature of lowering the gear by "spring" action if the air pressure drops of due to a leak or line rupture. I also charged my Spring Air System a few months ago and the gear still retracted (slowly) this week - tight system.
