Hi All
I am in need of some assistance from those with experience. I have some time in on building model aircraft but am getting tired of flying for a weekend and repairing for a week so I thought I would try something less frustrating. I have converted a Revell U-boat VIIC and would like to to make it a static diver.
Here is where I need the "voice of experience"
I have some "pieces" left over from one of my weekend flying outings. In particular I have salvaged the retractable landing gear parts and was thinking maybe we could use use that for the ballast system ( Robert Mfg --
http://www.robart.com/air_systems/airkits.aspx) This is a pneumatic system that you pump up by hand to 150 psi and with the small reservoir tank it is only good for 3 maybe 4 cycles. I don't think that's enough volume for a reliable ballast system. I was wondering if I can convert it over to something like using Propel but I don't know what the pressure that would be and if the valves and reservoir tank can handle that. This sub is very small so size matters and the components I have fit nicely. Anyone know what the pressure on that type of system is?
Any tips, hints, ideas, criticisms would be appreciated.
