The whole scheme is fraught with danger.
The only time I used a clear canopy(rather than painting the inside, or copying the original in f/glass to save weight), was also the only time I've lost the canopy in flight.
The pilot was a fluffy dog, and when I landed the model, all that remained was his felt feet.
