Default RE: A-cubed

The one I have here was made for Kenny Thornton of the Blues Brothers race team..
Best place to get information on the engine is on the USRA racing forum
Go to
www.usrainfo.org
Put an inquiry in the racing forum, someone will reply....
Wendel Hostetler and Miles Reed collaborated on the first Lancair IV..Miles told me that if the real one qualified at Reno they would have one of the fastest planes ever...It did, and subseqently the model versions were legal for racing...The first ones had problems with strength, MANY of the wings folded in the turns at about 220 mph...The problems were fixed and Lancairs had their own class, called experimental, at our races...The experimental class died out and there are no more Lancairs racing, as it takes 3 planes to make a class....Fred Sattler still holds the experimental record, set with an A cubed 11.6 twin...
