yes Captin I have tried the methanol/gas mix but didn't like it there is no punch to it and you'll need to keep the plug hot with battery at all times. the nitro helps quite a bit with the smoother running of the engine and kkeping the plug hot, no oil to purchase and it's only one step mixing.
