Birddog,
I flew it today and almost wrecked the crap out of it. It died on me about 3 times. The last time I cranked it, took off, pulled to vert., and at about 150 ft I let out of it and it died. It stopped, flipped over and headed straight back down, over the runway still. I hauled back on the elevator and thought it was going to plant itself right there in the middle of the runway, I just knew it was gone. It leveled out just as the mains hit the grass. It rolled about 10 feet on the mains at about 50 mph (guessing) and took back off. I glided it down the runway and landed right before the corn. Gave it right rudder, up elevator and right aileron to turn it away from the corn and stop. It spun around, tipped up on it's nose and fell back on all three wheels. [X(][X(][sm=drowning.gif]Guess I'm flying a free plane now because this one should be gone.

I walked down and got it, let my nerves calm for a minute or two, cranked it and kept on flying.

I guess I'm not giving it enough time to warm up when I crank it. I just start it, clear it out, taxi and take off. It's in the air doing what a Big Boy does in less than a minute after I start it. That happened three times today, all on the first flight after it had cooled off some. (10 to 20 min between flights). I need to be more carefull!!
On a lighter note, I got my buddies Fromeco TNC tach this evening and started it back up. About 7500 RPM is all I can get on an 18X8 Menz S prop. I think the 18X6 Mejzlik will turn a lot harder! According to what I have read on Ralph's posts here, The Zenoahs love RPMs so at 9000 with the Mejzlik it should make more power and thrust than with the 18X8 Menz. at 7500, and should be happier. What do you think?
