Default RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Sim I could'nt agree with you more...well done. Although i think he did not really understand the whole subject matter though due to his response, well, being innapropriatly phrased. The concept of prefs...prey tell.

I just bought an MT2 18ss and then took the dodgy 18ss out (not even started or ran-in) and put the OS 18CVR with a change of tyres, and sealed my diffs with Traxxas diff oil. Put the CF upper chassis on it as well as the CF front/rear shock towers and CF break disk and generally modded some things for the race course while I was building it to make it stronger. looks very swish. have to run in the engine though first.

Any advice about the 18CVR and its tweeks...?

Thats right it is a matter of preference but also each tool has its needs and place...if you want to put a pull starter on all your engines then happy trails an drive off into the sunset. They are not a race tool and thats a fact. That does not mean people do not use them. I stated my preferences and I stated why, if you dont agree with my prefrence then so be it adn keep your whims to yourself, all in all, that you problem so please stop trying to be so damn confrontational and arrogant. I have told you many times 46U on this thread even before you started to dominate it, which why most of the original members left, not be as you are and try to be less intense. Myself and nitro are probaly the few who were on at the beginning with no problems. You have some great advice but this does not mean its all good, neither is mine, but I dont biggot myself after stating a personal preference and then say "its a personal preference".

Changing the subject...have any of you tried to play with your differentials, with lube and or seal the diff with various weights and viscosity oils...?

How you start you engines is a matter of preference. I do not have a problem starting mine whether I have a flame out or what with my pull starters. I run both small and big block engines with them and in about 6 years I have only broke 2 trying to start my BB when flooded. Never even had to change a one way bearing yet. Lord welling when I get my Hyper 8 I will have my first starter box. Matter of fact I all ready have the starter box because I came across a very good deal. As far as a Roto starter on a small block I am sure they are fine but from what I read in the Savage forum there are a lot more problems with them tearing up then pull starter as well as replacing one way bearing. I am sure it has a lot to do with knowing what you are doing just like with pull starters. But as long as you get the engine started is all that matters.
