I can't tell what Keiths intent was for this.
What I use it for is to bolt the spinner back plate to the hub. Doing this I don't have that problem.
If your propeller is not tight, you will snap off the bolts.
I would recommend that you tighten the propeller nut as tight as you can.
I use a wrench that is abotu 1 foot long.
I tighten it until I think I will break my propeller.
I have NEVER snapped a bolt off.

My BME 100 has two holes tapped for #6 screws in the drive washer. Apparently you are to put two #6 machine screws in there as drive pins for the prop. Every time I put the screws in there they sheer when I run it. Whats the solution for this? I tried to leave them out and torque the prop nut to 50 ft-lbs but it has thrown the prop and I am afraid to get in front of it to start it
