Default RE: RC yacht on open sea

Hi there again,

As I previously said there is no real problem of sailing your boat on the sea. Like the guys say she needs to be watertight, however the electronics need to be watertight not necessarily the boat. If you cant make her completely watertight put some boyancy in the hull like bubble wrap to make sure that if she takes on water then she wont sink completely. My previous point, make sure you have a rescue boat handy. The international one metre guys successfully sail on the sea arround the world in all kinds of wind. The deal is that the higher the wind the smaller your rig (sails) need to be. if you havent got a storm rig then furl your sails before you launch, that way you will be able to keep control. If all else fails buy a submarine.

regards

Mike
