Nose ring former

Just an update if you're planning to run a mount with a nose ring attached to the cowling.

Here is shown mine, which is a Hyde ARA for the YS 160 with the Central Hobbies aluminum nose ring. take special note of how I glassed in the former, and added the extra supports from the firewall to the side of the cowl, as well as in the cowling corners.

Mine has kicked back hard twice, and had quite a few solid runs on it with no noticable problems. I'll keep you informed, but it's interesting to note that there's less low end vibration with this arrangement. More high speed vibration however, so I'm watching everything closely.

But the power.....it's pretty awesome.
