Default RE: Updates on the Pitts Model 12

Bosshossv8,

This is my first 3w twin. Someone else will have to give the numbers on this engine. All I know is from the 3W website which says the stock 3w-56 is rated at 5.5 HP. The competition version of the engine is rated at 12-14 percent stronger. I was hoping to turn a 24-8 prop at 6500.

I purchased the supersonic muffler system for the 3w.

I have a Sig Sundancer with a DA50 and Pitts muffler. I run a 23x8 CF Mejzlick. The PT 23x8 CF prop is actually lighter than the Mejzlick. It has great vertical. However, if you snap it on a upline it will continue to climb but won't accelerate like I want it too. I think my Sig is coming in around 18lbs.

I was hoping for a little more power from the 3W than my DA 50, in order to offset the additional weight of the engine. Then all I was looking for less vibration than a single.

So if someone is running the 3W-56b2 competition engine how about some numbers?
