I let mine tick down into the yellow often....and once ran it down to the red. I say once because when I plugged my CP in it went nuts and raced across my hobby table and chopped my Tx antennae in half (problem solved with charged batteries). I also like to run new cars of mine out of gas too so I know how far I can push it so you may want to disregard my perspective.
