I use low rate aileron throws (usually manufacturers suggested throws) for things like lomcevaks and other tumbling manuvers, then switch on high rates (as much as i can get) for low airspeed manuvers like harriers, and also high rates help in flat spins. If your using high rates be sure to program in some expo.
