Default RE: Proper Engine Breakin Procedure!?!

ORIGINAL: chubbysuncle

Hey Charlie here's a link to OFNA's break in proceedure. I did this with the Volcano. With the Savage I did 1/2 tank at idle and then the rest on a level parking lot driving very slowly and running thru 4 tanks real rich then started leaning it out and tuning it up. Everyone's got their own opinion on break in but the Redcat manual I have has a pretty crappy break in procedure. Just take it easy and run it real rich for the first 2-3 tanks. When the engine is off or runs out of fuel make sure the piston is at bottom dead center. Lowest point.
OH and read this Page![link]http://www.ofna.com/guide-fuel.html[/link]
Can you just explain how you determine whens the piston at TDC (top dead center) and BDC (bottom Dead Center)??
