RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36
The only good source I found for (in-stock) pinions for 2.0mm and 2.3mm shafts was Hobby People (but they don't have the 8-tooth either...darn!). I have a theory as to why even the 380S gave you the wobble...even though it's only a 3000KV, it probably has a lot of torque and is reaching much higher RPMs. Don't forget that these motors KV RPMs are rated without a load on them. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong. After my last incident where the stock Walkera blade came completely off and smashed into the other one, my motor has been running A LOT hotter...went from 185F to 210F! I couldn't figure out why, so I moved the motor away from the main gear and powered it up...there's a nasty buzzing vibration from inside the motor itself! I think maybe the shock from the blade strike bent the shaft inside the motor. Soneebee - if you do the same with one of your motors, does it operate nice and smooth or does it vibrate? I would think a brushless motor would be nice and silky smooth. Anyways, I think I'm going to try an Align motor now.
