Hi Ron, I really don't think tyhat you have to be a "computer genius" in order to work in Photoshop.
I found, a very long time ago, that if you are good at what you do then "that's pretty easy" for you. On the other hand, if something is difficult for you, we have a tendecy to shy away from working in that area.
For some, overcoming that problem is easy - for others, it is hard.
I know for a fact that "I don't know how to build a web site", so I tend to procrastinate on learning it. However, motivation though, WILL override that issue,
In essence, take whatever you need to do in Photoshop, look it up in the HELP area and work at just that issue. Sooner or later, you'll figure it out! OK --- that one more thing that you know how to do in that HARD application.
