RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
Sorry Jackedman...Im really not sure. I have a savage ss and looking at them I dont think you can do it, what I mean is the I dont think they will fit at all. I just have the MT2 versions on mine and I did the shock mod with the fuel hose and its magic. I could in theory take a big hit and the suspension would'nt bottom out. But I have changed my shock oil, the piston holes, springs aswell. Remeber though, this truck can take big hits but its not a Savage lol. There is only so much modding you can do before you take away from what the truck is. if you put a BB in there you also have to re-adjust the oil and shock set-up anyway as the BB is heavier. try the BB and then the shock set-up first folowed by the fuelhose mod and then go from there mate.
But 46u is right in that way, some small blocks may have similar power (the new EB mod 18TM is a killer engine) - definitly not the same though, My hyper would rip through a an 18TM like a weedwacker through butter; but the torque is totally different. When you change the gear ratio - which you should also do to bring the power down to more controlable track conditions; your torque is great.
Yeah GPM is not that its bad, its just that its not billet alum so they are weaker inferior parts with a High price tage.
Look through this thread though as both myself and many others have put links in already about where to buy the good parts from. If you still cant find them then ill try to go through my data bank and give oyu some links.
In terms of engines...stay with a .21 size engine...anything more is just a waist. The Mr Ninja .21 is a GREAT engine and Mugen seki race those little beasts with race results to back them up trackside onthe 1/8th circuit. Cheaper would be the Hyper .21. There are others. Dont go the OS rg .21 engine as a TM18 would kill that power wise.
