Default RE: How do superchargers work?

super chargers work on rotary engines even peripheral port and they dont have valves
Wankel rotaries in principle work more like a 4 stroke-cycle engine. But forget about supercharging a 2 stroke. Enough people previously explained why. If you want more power out of a 2 stroke. Stick on a tuned pipe. That will have a much greater "supercharging" effect. It sets up a standing pressure wave in the pipe when it is in its proper RPM band. What this does is to help suck the exhaust out better and then as the pistion is rising again to close the exhaust port a pulse of exhaust gas gets rammed back in the combustions chamber increasing the compression like a supercharger. You can hear the engine "come on pipe" when it hits that RPM band. The power just comes on. Sometimes it can almost sound like a 2-speed shifting.
