Well, you started out by saying you werent into gas, but 99% of these planes are gas powered.

A big glow 2 stroke is going to guzzle fuel and make a big oily mess. The Saito 300 twin, which is 3.0 CI displacement is a great but expensive choice.

I have 2 80" planes that are BME 50 powered. The BME 50 is also 3.0 CI. It will fly for 15 minutes on 16oz of regular gas.

Yes gassers take a lot of planning to get the radio gear setup so there is no interference. If you get a gasser, get the one with the metal spark plug boot and search here, or ask, for how to set it up.
