yel914- oh well on the BJ gear. Sure looks nice. I'll order the plain one if mine is too soft like you said. It is the 60 sized one. I have another plane that came with a super soft dural gear. I made a saddle mount thing of ply that overhangs the bend a little and presses firmly against each side to keep it from flexing. It works.
