Default Airsoft Testing Continued, Part 20!

Good Morning Fellas!

Ordered the Shooting Light Fixtures for my Chrony F-1 to be able to shoot in low light conditions and indoors, works great! Lost a lot of time not having them.

Started testing again and have been really frustrated with the results. Was unable to replicate past performances by assembling exact copies of gun used before that is now installed in tank with standard barrel.

Tonight I took out TJMs gun, hooked my barrel up to it and started shooting! Averaged 185fps, with a 204.5fps for a high and a bunch of 190s. The Systema 6.04mm airsoft barrel likes the Crosman Glo .12g bbs and the high quality ones Mato sells with his "Super" tanks equally well. There is no difference. There is a 20-50fps loss when using Flying Colors Orange and CyberGun Red.

Happy with my results, I took my unit apart again and began the laborious and tedious task of making one change, putting all the screws back in, firing 10 rounds, take it all apart, change one other thing, back together, fire another 10 rounds, over and over and over and over for about 3 hours.

Turns out one of the VS nozzle/plungers was somewhow bad, piston didn't slide with ease inside nozzle with or without lubrication.

Swapped that out and continued testing. While I could record some of my highest velocities with a longer spring, the variances are wild! The spring kind of oscillates in performance. Your first shot will be 200fps, then 190, then 191, then 185, 171, 165, 147, 129 then 189, then 200. The spring I thought would work the best didn't and it's shorter version averaged a little less then the longest one but they were grouped closer together and we're shooting for consistancy. It did reach a high of 210fps!

The springs I'd previously recorded my highest velocities with were all over the place, they are not consistant. Don't seem to have memory, after 50 rounds or so I had to stretch it out to it original length.

Tomorrow I'll assemble the gun again with the ideal spring and barrel and test it with paintballs for determining maximum range to get a burst all the time. Last time was 12-13 feet.

The Systema 6.04mm brass barrel worked the best (207mm for Pershing). My Mad Bull 6.03mm (234mm for Tiger) was really disappointing. Velocities average less then 100fps, might be too tight. However, the paintballs I'm using are of smaller diameter then the Mato or Crosman so we'll be sure to test those through the barrel as well. I sure hope it works, I have another one on the way from eBay!

Thomas John Murphy, I'll get your unit returned to you soon. Funny thing, I was never able to open it to see what you did. The screw just above the motor seems melted to the body and I didn't want to risk damaging the housing or your set up.
