Default How do you paint gel coated cowls?

There is nothing prettier than a apinted 'glas cowl. I am finishing up a bashed 4*60 and adding a cowl.

Wet sand it, fill in the inevitable pinholes with glazing compound/filler, wet sand, prime, wet sand, mask and paint. Remember to pit the light colors (yellow) on first, followed by darker (red) and darkest (blue), to follow the cap/extra/edge in your avitar.

Hobby shops have a special, very flexible masking tape that works better than the automotive masking tape. Do a "test spray" if you use dope/Lustrecote since it may soften the tape's adhesive and go gooey.

There may be an article on painting in our Library, dig around.

This is a general method, but is a good start.
