Default RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

I bought a BCPP after a buddy let me fly his BCX for a couple of seconds. Been flying Planes now for 6 years, and always wanted a heli, so I took the plunge. Been flying outside and in the garage during eve's and rainy days. Have the hover down tail in, working on sides in.

I stuck the plastic blades on, added one set of flybar weights to slow it down a little, and also followed the 5 series of videos that were linked on a thread here somewhere. The vids made a ton of difference in understanding how this thing works, and how to better set it up.

I get 10 min flights out of the 850 mAh pack, I'm sticking on a set of flat bottom wood blades to see if my flight times improve.

I've smashed the tail boom to "boom strike" now 3 times, mainly due to fear (slamming down on the grass & concrete). I went the midwest carbon fiber route, as it's only $5 for two pieces of tail boom material. The last tail boom piece I had got hit, and I had to CA it back together, then for torsional strength, I lightly wrapped and crossed the entire boom with thread and CA'd it in place. It'll work until I can get to the store and buy another 2 ft length.

I'm a big time penny pincher. I've built and re-built many planes. Just wondering if anyone has built their own blades for these helis. They dont look overly complicated, maybe just that you need some hard balsa???
