One other cheapO trick I did for training gear was to buy 0.080 inch X 2 ft carbon fiber, zip tie them to the landing skids (each outside corner), then CA 4 ping pong balls to the ends of the carbon fiber rods (completely through the balls). The build costs ~ $4 compared to the $10 Eflight gear.
