Matt,

In the Fail Safe menu, move the cursor over the throttle channel and make sure it says something like -256 (why they don't display these things in % is one of those software to english mysteries). You don't have to do all those power off cycles. BTW, low trim has no effect at low throttle with travel set at 150%.

If that's ok, then the only other thing is how often the fail safe data is sent and how quick you turn the Tx off. I doubt you could get it off fast enough.

Go to the RC Check Menu and look at the pulses. My guess is you need to reverse the throttle channel to get the low pulse width on the idle side. I had something like this once and I found that Fail Safe was sending a full+ throttle pulse. Hurting my head remembering this problem, but I think that's what it was.
