Default RE: HELI DIRECT LIED - HDX300 Main Gear with Strong Steel Main Shaft for Stock Blade CP

ORIGINAL: hover_lover

I thought that HDX gear had 137 teeth (mine does) while the stock one has 140. That should increase headspeed (minutely).
Humm...well then something else must be causing my loss of power. I had a spare main motor so I replaced it to see if it would help. The new motor did help, but not much. Still not flying like it used to.

I replaced the blades when I put on the new gear. The new blades are from heli direct and they are not as wide as the old ones. Could this be causing it?

The new blades since then have been nicked pretty bad (radio glitch and the heli throttled up and the blades hit a box a couple times). Could this be increasing the drag which is making the headspeed go down?

Could the fewer teeth on the HDX gear cause such a loss of torque that when the pitch increases it loses head speed?

You can hear a DEFINATE loss of head speed when the pitch increases, I don't rember if it sounded like that before or not.

Ideas on anything I should check before I replace the gear?
