LOL im having the same issues with starting mine with my new flat chassis i have the team magic starter box im thinking of going to either a mugen flywheel/clucth or a firioni turbo slider thease flywheels are larger in diamater and wont stick through the bottom of the chassis. and yes the new flat chassis is very thick and kinda heavy. the only time on the track it feels heavy is when im air born. but on the ground its super stable and turns very well ive got a killer set up on mine right now!!!
