Default RE: HELI DIRECT LIED - HDX300 Main Gear with Strong Steel Main Shaft for Stock Blade CP

Walleye, I agree with you on helidirect. They are very good at misleading people and send out half assed products. I spent money on their BCP belt drive kit with tail case and it was very low quality. The tail belt pully mounted on the main shaft is actually not drilled at 90 degrees! This makes the pully wobble. Many reports of this, no word from Steve on RCGroups. The kit was thrown together with mostly shogun parts and presented as a new helicopter. The only original piece is the frame and I believe this was aquired from subcontractor JappaUSA company (Sonix name).

The message here, don't buy from HD if you don't know what you're getting or it's one of their "exclusive" parts. I agree though, they do ship quickly.

Jent, I have the same autorotation gear and main shaft from helidirect. If there is only a 3 tooth difference in size from the original gear then the difference in torque/headspeed is only about 2% and should be undetectable. Something you need to check is the motor's pinion mesh with the new gear. You definitely need to move your motor after installing the gear to accomidate the different pitch of the gears. You may have too tight of a mesh now which is causing your motor to bog. The motor should actually be more efficient now because when you slow down the autorotation gear allows the blades to continue spinning with no torque generated by the motor thus saving a small amount of energy. I've used HD's BCP blades and even though they aren't the same shape as the stock blades the difference will not be that drastic. Good luck getting it to work and let us know how it goes.
