There are so many different types of trainers out there. To tell you the truth, they all pretty much do the same thing. I used a Hanger 9 alpha 40 trainer. It was a RTF (ready to fly) set. It took only about 1 hour to build and it came with a JR Quatro radio. An awsome airplane. It lasted about 6 months until it went into a fence [:@]
It lived a good life and did its job well.
No matter what type of trainer you decide to buy, please have sombody there for the maiden flight. If at all possible, have it test flown by a more expirienced pilot and they will make sure it's properly trimmed. That'll make it easier for you. I fly full scale planes too, and trust me, r/c planes are a lot harder to fly. Don't be afraid to get help.
