RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9
Two points from my own experience with this fine model:
1. I put a G-26 (1.55 CID) in mine and I would say that is the absolute minimum size 2-stroke you can safely get by with. I wouldn't even consider a 1.20 4-stroke; 1.50 4-stroke is probably the minimum.
2. For those considering big engines, the fuselage is VERY fragile. Don't just look at the engine box / firewall. Look inside the airframe. There isn't much to it. And every stick seems to have been hot-glued together. If you're going to use a big engine, you might consider reinforcing the entire airframe.
