Default RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

In my opinion the Hellfire is a great Truggy but, needs a few changes right off the start. 1) you will need a hightorque steering servo - the stock one is junk and won't last you 10 tanks of fuel. 2) the whole radio system is about as cheap as they come - you have only 6 channel choices and, the signal is really weak - run offs are easily possible. 3) the stock Clutchbell is to small - top speeds are prolly only 30 MPH - a 15 tooth is what is should of came with! 4) You need at least 30k weight oil in the center diff and, 10k in the f/r - the diffs unload like crazy until this is done.

Overall i have the Hellfire and, was stuck making the changes. I like it very much now with a few changes but for nearly $600 dollars US + a radio and, HT steering servo - you'd prolly do better to grab a RTR Truggy that COMES WITH a decent radio and, servos! Or buy the SS kit BUT, that takes the whole point out of Ready To Run.
