Default RE: U Can Do 3D

After just about completeing my 3rd & last Do, I remembered how many modifications I had to make to get them strong enough and fly right. I had a lot of trouble figuring out where to mount the throttle servo,I ended up putting it where the last Do had it,up front under the nose on the long, angled ply bottom, at least this makes the push rod short but requires much bending which is where the frustration comes from. The Ny-rod types dont work because of permanent bends required. The X100 goes together with very few changes and doesnt have any of the Do bad habits flying. It will be interesting to see if I can match the 3-D part with this one, seems the set-ups are critical to get it to hover,harrier,T/R well. Great Planes better come up with something to match the X100 or they are in trouble with the U-Can-Dos. They dont seem to keep up with the pack, it still would be a good first plane for the 3-D beginner, provided they get some help with building tips.
