Radio equipment after a crash...?
I have a 4-channel Airtronics whose equipment was in a crash.
Obviously the transmitter is still good. However, the wreckage left servos and battery stripped of their plugs (one servo's wire was sheered exposing only wires). The battery and receiver were wrapped in foam, but I'd feel more comfortable replacing them altogether.
So what should I look for? As far as radios go, I only know to make sure that the receiver I buy is on the same channel as my transmitter. After exploring hobby shops and online stores, it seems CHEAPER to buy a new Airtronics 4-channel radio complete with receiver and 4 servos than it is to buy the airtronics flight pack and/or reciever/servos separately.
To this extent, can I just buy some inexpensive off-brand radio equipment for whatever cheap price I can find? Or should I stick to only airtronics? What should I NOT buy? Thanks!
