When I bend one I swap it out and then straighten out the bent one for the next time
So do I. Quite often. I don't always find time to straighten the bent one before I find myself with two shafts to work upon.
Then again, I guess it's more efficient to straighten the two at the same time.
(You know, tools already brought out to the workbench, etc.)

I keep the broken pieces around and fix them when possible.
Wish I (we?) could do the same for the wooden blades.
